The Mot House is a charming, light and airy 3 bedroom 1940s bungalow. Suitable for couples, friends, families and  groups. Linen and towels provided. 1.5 bathrooms. Accommodates up to 7 people.

The house is pitched at a mid-price range to fit between lower priced backpacker accommodation and other options such as motels.

You get a comfortable low-key home away from home - your own Mot-based "bach"  - with all bedding, towels, fresh herbs from the garden, a fully fenced private garden, a deck with views - and  just a leisurely stroll away from the attractions of main street in Mot, and a short bike ride or drive to all the other offerings of our region.

Shoulder Season (1 Feb 2010 - 31 May 2010)

Due to a noticable  downturn in visitor activity - but definitely not enthusiasm!  - in Motueka this summer, with many of our visitors and those of other operators choosing shorter stays - wanting to avail themselves of the wonderful options on offer in this beautiful area, whilst being mindful of their overall budgets, The Mot House has decided to change tack for this lower than expected demand period (Feb 2010).
The house is now fully occupied by more long term travellers,  and so is unavailable till around mid-year at this stage. **

We will review Tariffs and Availability in response to changing demand as that time draws nearer.

Congratulations to Matthias and Yvonne on your marriage, and Special Thanx to the young artists who were here for the final booking at the end of January.
We loved your chalk drawings all over the footpaths and scary warnings to "keep out" of the secret hideaway down the side of the house writtten in scary big chalk letters on the fence.
They have only just been washed away (10 Feb) with our first rains in a few weeks.
Life moves on! But we'll remember! We're definitely keeping out.

Terms and Conditions

  • Arrival and departure times:
    Arrival 3.30pm, departure 11.30am.
    Or by arrangement.     
  • Booking fee:
    25% deposit will secure the house for you at the time of booking. Balance of booking fee due on arrival.  

  • Payment Method:
    Direct deposit, NetBank and Western Union
    Prefer direct payment into account for initial deposit. Or Western Union for overseas bookings. 

    Balance of booking fee may be deposited to bank account about a week in advance of your arrival date to allow clearance of funds, or paid in cash on arrival.

Cancellations:

  • We understand that situations arise where you may need to cancel. Please advise of cancellations as soon as possible to help us secure a replacement booking. 
  • Refunds: Notification not less than three weeks (21 days) in advance of the first night of your booking will receive a full refund of your deposit. 7 - 20 days in advance will receive a half refund (or a full refund less a $30 admin fee if we secure a replacement booking). Less than 7 days we reserve the right to make no refund but again will attempt to secure a replacement booking, in which case a refund will be made less an admin fee of  $50.
